How about another segment of 5 Things? This time I’m picking 5 of my favorite songs that just happen to be a woman’s name (technically the Mötley Crüe reference doesn’t count). Sorry to report that nothing from The Beatles made the list. Lord knows they tried.

I’ve been inspired by Katie’s 5 by the 5th art initiative. I thought I might put my own twist on it. I’m calling it 5 Things. Hopefully this thing could turn into a regular segment here.

Let’s take a look at 5 guitar solos. Now, these aren’t the fastest or most face-melting solos out there. The 5 solos I’m pointing out are 5 solos that, no matter how many times I hear them, never fail to move me. These are solos that turn some great songs into truly tremendous pieces. It’s no coincidence that all of these solos signal the climax of each tune. In no particular order:
