5 Things – Guitar Solos

I’ve been inspired by Katie’s 5 by the 5th art initiative. I thought I might put my own twist on it. I’m calling it 5 Things. Hopefully this thing could turn into a regular segment here.

Let’s take a look at 5 guitar solos. Now, these aren’t the fastest or most face-melting solos out there. The 5 solos I’m pointing out are 5 solos that, no matter how many times I hear them, never fail to move me. These are solos that turn some great songs into truly tremendous pieces. It’s no coincidence that all of these solos signal the climax of each tune. In no particular order:

Good call on the Wilco. That would get an honorable mention from me.

“Hell is Chrome” – Wilco (Jeff Tweedy, 2:50) It’s a spastic gem.

I am not a huge fan of guitar solos, that being said my favorite (which might be cliche for me) is Nine Inch Nails – “Ruiner” (Trent Reznor, 3:00). It is just so sloppy unapologetically awesome. It turns this dancy-clubby song completely on its head.
Second place is Marilyn Manson’s live version of “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” (John 5, 3:07) off of “The Last Tour on Earth” Album. If someone was to record having sex with a guitar, this is what it would sound like. For an added bonus continue listening for the hell outro.

Certainly was an absolute traumatic situation in my view, however , being able to see a specialized mode you treated it took me to weep with contentment. I will be thankful for this service and in addition expect you find out what an amazing job you were doing training many people all through your webpage. Most probably you have never got to know any of us.
